REPUBLIC ACT NO. 3976 - AN ACT
ESTABLISHING A RECEPTION CENTER OF THE SOCIAL WELFARE ADMINISTRATION IN
THE CITY OF ANGELES

Section 1. There is
hereby established a reception center of the Social Welfare
Administration in the City of Angeles. The said center shall be erected
in a two-hectare site to be provided by the said city. Sec. 2. The said reception center shall have the following functions: (1) To provide a system of community care and social and consultative services essential to the needs of children, adolescents, adults and transient destitute families and promote their social well-being; (2) To provide and attend to the needs and extent aid to destitute transient families; (3) To establish the necessary facilities to carry out said activities; and (4) To carry out such other functions aid implement such programs and activities as the Social Welfare Administration may direct. Sec. 3. The reception center shall be headed by a superintendent who shall be under the administrative or technical supervision of the Social Welfare Administrator. The superintendent shall be appointed by the Executive Secretary upon the recommendation of the Social Welfare Administrator, and shall receive an annual compensation provided for by law for superintendents of institutions of similar nature. Sec. 4. The sum of two hundred thousand pesos is hereby authorized to be appropriated, out of any funds in the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to carry into effect the provisions of this Act. Sec. 5. This Act shall take effect upon its approval. Approved: June 18, 1964 |
