BATAS PAMBANSA BLG. 336 - AN ACT
CREATING THE MUNICIPALITY OF SALVADOR BENEDICTO IN THE PROVINCE OF
NEGROS OCCIDENTAL |
Section 1. Barangay Pandanon and Barangay Igmayaan in the
Municipality of Murcia and portions of Barangay Lalong and Barangay
Marcelo in the Municipality of Calatrava, all in the Province of Negros
Occidental, and Barangay Bunga and Barangay Kumaliskis and a portion of
Barangay Prosperidad, all in the City of San Carlos, are separated from
their respective municipalities and city and constituted into a
distinct and independent municipality in the Province of Negros
Occidental to be known as the Municipality of Salvador
Benedicto. Sec. 2. The boundaries of the new municipality shall be as follows: "Beginning from corner No. 1,
being a point at the junction of Bago River and Pandanon River; thence
following Pandanon River upstream in a northeasterly direction about
4,550 meters to corner No. 2, being a point at the junction of Pandanon
River and a creek; thence N 68 30' E about 1,505 meters to corner
No. 3, being a point at peak of Mt. Mandalagan; thence S 87 40' E about
3,020 meters to corner No. 4, being a point on top of a ridge; thence S
60 25' E about 1,800 meters to corner No. 5, being a point on
side of the former ILCO logging road; thence S 3 30' W about
1,445 meters to corner No. 6, being a point on top of a mountain ridge;
thence S 53 00' W about 2,930 meters, being a point at the
junction of Bago River and Pinawayan Creek; thence following Bago River
downstream in a south and north-westerly direction about 7,180 meters
to corner No. 1, a point in the beginning, whose tie line is identical
to corner No. 1, a point at the junction of Bago River and Pandanon
River, containing an area of seventeen thousand fifty-six (17,056.0)
hectares, more or less."
Sec. 3. The seat of government of the new municipality shall be the present Barangay Igmaya-an. Sec. 4. After ratification by the majority of the votes cast in a plebiscite to be conducted in the areas affected within a period of one hundred and twenty days from the approval of this Act, the President of the Philippines shall appoint the first mayor, vice mayor and other elective officials of the municipality. Sec. 5. The Commission on Elections shall conduct and supervise the plebiscite herein provided. The expense for such plebiscite shall be charged to local funds. Sec. 6.
