REPUBLIC ACT NO. 629
REPUBLIC ACT NO. 629 - AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A CONCURRENT PHILIPPINE CONSULATE IN SINGAPORE, FEDERATION OF MALAYA, BRITISH NORTH BORNEO, SARAWAK AND BRUNEI, WITH MAIN OFFICE IN SINGAPORE
Section 1. The following sums are hereby authorized to be appropriated for the operation of maintenance of the Concurrent Philippine Consulate in Singapore, Federation of Malaya, British North Borneo, Sarawak, and Brunei, with main office in Singapore:

SALARIES AND WAGES
1. One foreign affairs officer, class III P5,400.00
Supplementary salary 2,700.00
Living quarters allowance 3,900.00
Post allowance 2,100.00
2. One clerk stenographer 1,920.00
Supplementary salary 1,680.00
3. For weekly wages of local help to serve
in such capacities as interpreter, chauffeur,
messenger, janitor and laborer 2,000.00

SUNDRY EXPENSES
1. Traveling expenses of personnel P1,500.00
2. Freight, express and delivery service 500.00
3. Postal, telegraph, telephone,
cable and radio service 500.00
4. Illumination and power service 200.00
5. Rental of buildings and grounds 3,600.00
6. Consumption of supplies and materials 1,500.00
7. Printing and binding reports,
documents and publications 100.00
8. Maintenance and repair of equipment 400.00
9. Other services 600.00

SPECIAL EXPENSES
1. For representation expenses P2,000.00
2. For initial (organization) travelling
expenses in proceeding to post, including
shipment of equipment and supplies P4,000.00

Total for the Concurrent Philippine
Consulate in Singapore, Federation
of Malaya, British, North Borneo,
Sarawak and Brunei with main office
in Singapore P34,600.00

Sec. 2. The establishment of a Philippine Consulate in British North Borneo shall not be deemed to be a waiver of the claim of the heirs of the Sultan of Sulu or the Philippine Government to that territory.

Sec. 3. The general provisions of the Appropriation Act for the fiscal year nineteen hundred and fifty-two including the special provisions pertaining to the Department of Foreign Affairs, shall apply to the appropriations herein authorized.

Sec. 4. This Act shall take effect on July first, nineteen hundred and fifty-one.
