REPUBLIC ACT NO. 410 - AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION NINETEEN HUNDRED AND THIRTY-TWO OF THE REVISED ADMINISTRATIVE CODE, SO AS TO PROVIDE FOR THE ASSIGNMENT AND FIXING OF COMPENSATION OF INSPECTORS OF THE BUREAU OF POSTS, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
Section 1. Section nineteen hundred and thirty-two of the Revised Administrative Code is hereby amended to read as follows:

"Section 1932. Inspection districts and compensation of inspectors of the Bureau of Posts. � Each province, including all chartered cities adjoining it or situated within its boundaries, shall for administrative purposes constitute one inspection district of the Bureau of Posts, except the City of Manila which shall constitute one district. Each of those districts shall be in charge of an inspector of the said Bureau, who shall receive compensation in accordance with the following scale:

"(a) For the City of Manila, four thousand five hundred pesos per annum.

"(b) For first-class provinces, four thousand five hundred pesos per annum.

"(c) For second-class provinces, three thousand nine hundred sixty pesos per annum.

"(d) For third-class provinces, three thousand seven hundred twenty pesos per annum.

"(e) For fourth � and fifth-class provinces, three thousand four hundred eighty pesos per annum.

"There shall be assigned in the City of Manila ten assistant inspectors, whose salaries shall be three thousand one hundred twenty pesos per annum each.

"There shall be six supervising inspectors, whose salaries shall be five thousand one hundred pesos per annum each, and whose duties shall be to supervise the work of the district inspectors and assistant inspectors and perform such other duties as may be required of them from time to time by the Director of Posts. As immediate head of all the inspectors, one chief supervising inspector with a salary of five thousand four hundred pesos per annum is authorized.

Sec. 2. The positions provided for in this Act shall supersede all positions of inspector of the Bureau of Posts provided for in the current general appropriation act, and the additional amount needed for adjusting the present positions so as to conform with those provided for in this Act may be drawn from any sum set aside for the expansion and improvement of the postal service in the fiscal year 1949-1950.

Sec. 3. An appointee under this Act must be at least a first grade civil service eligible or its equivalent, or must have passed the Postal Inspector examination and must possess such other qualifications as the Commissioner of the Civil Service may prescribe.

Sec. 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 1949.
